About Chatham

The Town of Chatham is also known as the elbow of the Cape and is located in Barnstable County at the turn of Cape Cod. The town is a tourist dream with plenty of downtown shoppes, restaurants, candy and ice cream parlors.

There is so much to do and see in this town from the sparkling white sand beaches to the Creative Arts Center to the endless number of gift shops to browse through. For those more musically in tuned there's the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival and the Maritime Festival.

Another point of interest is all the seals that have come to the Chatham sand bars where the sharks have a hard time finding them. Whether you're a child or adult there is something in Chatham for everyone.

Works most artful & ingenious: Embroidery by Ann Grey

Highly original and strikingly beautiful contemporary needlework is the subject of Works most artful & ingenious: Embroidery by Ann Grey, the first comprehensive exhibition of this Chatham artist’s career. The Atwood House Museum is excited to be able to present some 30 examples of Grey’s work, many of which have never been publically exhibited before. The exhibition will open visitors’ eyes to the potential of a medium often considered limiting. Along with the finished pieces the exhibition will explore Grey’s creative process by including works in progress, examples of her drawings, and several of the artist’s handmade “notebooks” in which she records experiments that find their way into her work.
